TOPIC: Consequences of Addiction — 99 Not Yets — How has my life become unmanageable?
View: What's In The Deck
Taking stock of the consequences that have resulted from one's substance use or other addictive behaviors and understanding their impact on themselves and others is the first step in recovery. This card deck (and companion Facilitator Guide) helps individuals identify existing and potential consequences ("not yets") and better understand their broad and destructive effects on their life. Honest assessment of the impact of one's behavior on themselves and others leads to openness and willingness to take action toward change.
Discovery Cards are simple, practical, impactful, and increase engagement. Using behavior-based and color-categorized cards, individuals will discover what consequences (and "not yets") they have experienced and the breadth and depth of the impact on their broader life. The Facilitator Guide provides group leaders with everything needed to run structured, action-oriented sessions, including activity worksheets, and coaching tips. Discovery Cards increase engagement, participation, self-discovery, and spark great discussions in recovery group settings. For the best experience, buy a Group Kit, which includes everything you need to run an effective session.
